Marginalized employees ‒ they are in your organization, right now. They’re on the fringes. They are the people who don’t join in. What lessons does Jesus’ life teach us about putting our arms around these people and insuring they feel valued as well?
Why are we where we are in our daily lives? People from different places all over the world were mysteriously brought together to observe the recent eclipse. So why are we here – wherever “here” is? It is no mystery that God Himself has placed us wherever we are to accomplish His eternal purpose.
These ten questions have emerged from conversations with a myriad of leaders. I use them as I coach leaders and listen to friends. I utilize them to navigate my own life and leadership.
Questions can be a way to improve the health on a team. And, sometimes even improve an unhealthy team member. It’s all in picking the right questions. And, asking them.
There are always undiscussable issues in any organization. There are usually “elephants in the room.” We shy away from naming them. We steer clear of brutal facts. It would seem disloyal to bring them up. We fear if we bring up such issues, we will be labeled a rebel and may even face reprisals.
From the beginning of creation, God had a clear vision for generational succession. Everything we do should carry this vision!
Conflict is unavoidable in relationships. Conflict isn’t necessarily sinful or destructive, but it can be depending on what we do with it. Jesus outlines a clear, specific, and workable process in Matthew 18.

Many times, we know exactly what we should do, what we should say in a situation, what God wants us to do with our lives or a situation, but then we don’t do or say those things. Here are some simple ways to begin seeing God speak and move in your life and stop resisting His voice.
While it may not be easy, leaders need to get clear about what is life-giving for them, and then they need to prioritize this on their calendars. Pause for a minute and think of a job-related activity that is life-giving.
Jesus’ purpose is to build His Church. That must be our purpose: to work in the building of His Church.
“How do I confront my leader?” Because God uses confrontation to mature us and develop us and because a life without confrontation is a life without growth, it is an important question. But it is also a dangerous question.
Don’t start big. Start small. Concentrate on one bite of the elephant at a time.
